1818 AN ACT ESTABLISHING A MORATORIUM ON PERMITS TO BURN
1919 MEDICAL WASTE.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That the general statutes be amended to establish a moratorium on 1
2424 the approval of permits for the burning of medical waste to allow the 2
2525 Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to work with the 3
2626 Department of Public Health to assess any risks associated with such 4
2727 permits and develop attendant health and safety standards. 5
2828 Statement of Purpose:
2929 To mitigate risks associated with medical waste burning and protect the
3030 health and safety of residents in the state.
