AN ACT REQUIRING THE INCLUSION OF A MINIMUM READING PROFICIENCY LEVEL AS PART OF THE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 10-221a of the general statutes be amended to require 1 students to read at a minimum reading proficiency level of an eighth-2 grade level in order to graduate from high school. 3 Statement of Purpose: To require high school graduates to be able to read at a minimum of an eighth-grade reading level.
