AN ACT CONCERNING USE OF DEADLY FORCE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That subsection (c) of section 53a-22 of the general statutes be 1 amended to provide that use of deadly force upon another person by a 2 peace officer or an authorized official of the Department of Correction 3 or the Board of Pardons and Paroles is justified if a reasonable officer or 4 official would use such force given the facts and circumstances known 5 to the officer or official at the time, instead of requiring such force be 6 objectively reasonable under the given circumstances at the time. 7 Statement of Purpose: To ensure that peace officers are properly evaluated for the use of force.
