AN ACT PROHIBITING LICENSURE OF ACUTE CARE HOSPITALS
THAT LEASE PROPERTY OWNED BY REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT
TRUSTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 368v of the general statutes be amended to prohibit the 1
Commissioner of Public Health from granting or renewing a license to 2
an acute care hospital if the acute care hospital leases the main campus 3
of the hospital from a real estate investment trust. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit ownership of hospitals by real estate investment trusts.
