AN ACT CONCERNING POLICE OFFICER DISCRETION TO PURSUE
A MOTOR VEHICLE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 14-283a of the general statutes be amended to require the 1
Police Officer Standards and Training Council to revise the uniform 2
state-wide police pursuit policy to provide discretion to a police officer 3
to pursue a motor vehicle if such officer can articulate a public safety 4
need for such pursuit. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To provide discretion to a police officer to pursue a motor vehicle if such
officer can articulate a public safety need for such pursuit.
