AN ACT PROVIDING AN EXEMPTION FROM THE READING
CURRICULUM MODEL OR PROGRAM REQUIREMENT FOR CERTAIN
SCHOOL DISTRICTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 10-14hh of the general statutes be amended to exempt 1
local or regional boards of education whose students in the relevant 2
grade levels met or exceeded the reading benchmarks established for 3
such grade level. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To exempt high-performing school districts from the requirements of
the state-mandated reading curriculum.
