AN ACT CONCERNING TRACKING OF ABSENTEE BALLOTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 145 of the general statutes be amended to establish an 1 online and mobile-accessible system to allow each elector who has 2 returned an absentee ballot via mail or secure drop box to be able to 3 monitor such elector's ballot progress toward being counted on the day 4 of a primary or election, through the use of unique, trackable and 5 scannable barcodes at various checkpoints in the process, and which 6 system shall securely maintain personal data associated with 7 monitoring such ballot only for election-related purposes. 8 Statement of Purpose: To establish a secure, online and mobile-accessible system to allow electors who have returned absentee ballots to monitors such ballots progress toward being counted on the day of a primary or election.
