AN ACT LIMITING LOCAL PROPERTY TAX INCREASES ON SENIORS
AND CERTAIN PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 204a of the general statutes be amended to require that 1
the amount of any local property tax increase for seniors and persons 2
with qualifying disabilities not exceed the amount of any Social Security 3
benefit increase in the preceding taxable year. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce the incidences of local property tax increases harming elderly
and disabled residents on fixed incomes.
