1818 AN ACT REQUIRING HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR
1919 RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY FOLLOWING MELANOMA SURGERY

2121 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2222 Assembly convened:

2424 That chapter 700c of the general statutes be amended to require that 1
2525 individual and group health insurance policies provide health 2
2626 insurance coverage for reconstructive surgery following melanoma 3
2727 surgery on the face, including surgical procedures necessary to correct 4
2828 disfigurement, restore normal symmetry and correct functional 5
2929 impairments resulting from such melanoma surgery. 6
3030 Statement of Purpose:
3131 To require that individual and group health insurance policies provide
3232 health insurance coverage for reconstructive surgery following
3333 melanoma surgery on the face, including surgical procedures necessary
3434 to correct disfigurement, restore normal symmetry and correct
3535 functional impairments resulting from such melanoma surgery.
