AN ACT REQUIRING THE NOTIFICATION OF A PARENT OR
GUARDIAN OF A MINOR PRIOR TO THE TERMINATION OF A
PREGNANCY BY THE MINOR.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require that, prior to the 1
termination of a pregnancy by a minor, the parent or guardian of the 2
minor is notified, provided the minor may seek and receive court 3
approval to terminate the pregnancy in a proceeding that ensures the 4
minor's anonymity and is conducted with sufficient expedition to allow 5
the minor to terminate the pregnancy. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure that the best interests of a minor are protected when facing an
unplanned pregnancy.
