AN ACT REQUIRING ABLE -BODIED RECIPIENTS OF PUBLIC
ASSISTANCE TO WORK OR VOLUNTEER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require able-1
bodied beneficiaries of public assistance, including, but not limited to, 2
medical assistance, to work or volunteer unless exempt from working 3
or volunteering under federal law. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To require able-bodied public assistance beneficiaries to work or
volunteer to receive benefits unless they are exempt under federal law.
