2323 AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF STRIP SEARCHES AND USE OF
2424 CHEMICAL RESTRAINTS BY THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION.
2525 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2626 Assembly convened:

2828 That title 18 of the general statutes be amended to provide that the 1
2929 Department of Correction (1) be limited in its use of chemical restraints, 2
3030 (2) may only perform a strip search of an incarcerated person upon 3
3131 establishment of probable cause that the incarcerated person is in 4
3232 possession of contraband and that any cavity search be conducted only 5
3333 if necessary and in the least invasive manner possible, and (3) report on 6
3434 the use of any such practices. 7
3535 Statement of Purpose:
3636 To govern the use of strip searches and use of chemical restraints by the
3737 Department of Correction and improve transparency concerning the use
3838 of such methods.
