REP. NOLAN, 39th Dist. REP. BUMGARDNER, 41st Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING FREE BUS PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 242 of the general statutes be amended to exempt any 1 student enrolled in high school from payment of the lawful charge for 2 state-owned or state-controlled bus public transportation during the 3 two-hour period before the start of the regular school day and the four-4 hour period immediately following the end of the regular school day. 5 Statement of Purpose: To provide free bus public transportation for high school students before and after the regular school day in order for students to access extracurricular activities and employment opportunities.
