AN ACT CONCERNING FREE BUS PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FOR
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 242 of the general statutes be amended to exempt any 1
student enrolled in high school from payment of the lawful charge for 2
state-owned or state-controlled bus public transportation during the 3
two-hour period before the start of the regular school day and the four-4
hour period immediately following the end of the regular school day. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To provide free bus public transportation for high school students
before and after the regular school day in order for students to access
extracurricular activities and employment opportunities.
