AN ACT CONCERNING LEGAL LIABILITY FOR THE OWNER OF A
FIREARM WHOSE FIREARM IS USED IN THE COMMISSION OF A
FELONY OR MISDEMEANOR.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 52 of the general statutes be amended to provide that a civil 1
action may be brought against a gun owner whose firearm is used in the 2
commission of a misdemeanor or felony and that a prevailing plaintiff 3
in such action shall be entitled to damages, costs and attorney's fees. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To provide that a civil action may be brought against a gun owner
whose firearm is used in the commission of a misdemeanor or felony
and that a prevailing plaintiff in such action shall be entitled to damages,
costs and attorney's fees.
