AN ACT ESTABLISHING A PILOT PROGRAM FOR LATER SCHOOL
START TIMES FOR THE TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND CAREER
SYSTEM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to establish a pilot 1
program for the school years commencing July 1, 2025, and July 1, 2026, 2
to implement a school start time that is one hour later for schools in the 3
Technical Education and Career System and to conduct a study to 4
evaluate the impact of such later school start time on student academic 5
performance, mental health and overall well-being. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To establish a pilot program to implement a later school start time for
schools in the Technical Education and Career System.
