AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN DAY OF EACH YEAR FOR 
CELEBRATION OF DIWALI, THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That section 10-29a of the general statutes be amended to designate 1 
the fifteenth day of the month of Kartik in the Hindu lunar calendar of 2 
each year as Diwali, for celebration of the festival of lights. 3 
Statement of Purpose:   
To designate the fifteenth day of the month of Kartik in the Hindu lunar 
calendar of each year as Diwali.
