AN ACT CONCERNING RETAILERS' USE OF THE PHRASE "DOLLAR
STORE".
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide that no retailer 1
doing business in this state shall hold itself out as a "dollar store" unless 2
a significant majority of the goods such retailer offers to consumers are 3
priced at or below one dollar. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure that retailers more accurately employ the phrase "dollar
store".
