AN ACT CONCERNING A UNIFORM STATE -WIDE PROPERTY TAX
RATE FOR MOTOR VEHICLES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to replace the municipal 1
property tax on motor vehicles with a property tax on motor vehicles at 2
a uniform state-wide rate and distribute the revenue generated 3
proportionally to municipalities based on what they currently collect for 4
motor vehicle property tax. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To replace the municipal property tax on motor vehicles with a state-
wide property tax on motor vehicles at a fixed rate and distribute the
revenue generated proportionally to municipalities based on what they
currently collect for motor vehicle property tax.
