| 21 | 21 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General |

| 22 | 22 | | Assembly convened: |

| 24 | 24 | | That (1) section 51-277e of the general statutes be amended to require 1 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the Office of the Inspector General to (A) determine whether the death 2 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | of a person arising from the use of force by a police officer was a suicide; 3 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and (B) make recommendations to the Police Officer Standards and 4 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Training Council concerning training to reduce the incidence of any 5 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | such suicides; and (2) section 52-571k of the general statutes be amended 6 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | to (A) allow a civil action brought pursuant to said section to be 7 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | commenced not later than two years after the date on which the cause 8 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | of action accrues, instead of one year after such date; and (B) if the 9 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | subject of any civil action brought under said section is also the subject 10 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | of an investigation conducted by the Office of the Inspector General 11 |

| 35 | 35 | | under section 51-277e of the general statutes, require said office to make 12 |

| 36 | 36 | | available to the parties to such action any documents related to such 13 |
