2525 AN ACT CONCERNING MURDER COMMITTED IN THE COURSE OF A
2626 DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INCIDENT AND THE ISSUANCE OF CRIMINAL
2727 PROTECTIVE ORDERS AGAINST CONVICTED PERPETRATORS OF
2828 DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
2929 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
3030 Assembly convened:

3232 That (1) the general statutes be amended to require a court to issue a 1
3333 criminal protective order in favor of a domestic violence victim against 2
3434 the perpetrator as part of the sentence for a domestic violence 3
3535 conviction, and (2) section 53a-54b of the general statutes be amended 4
3636 to add murder committed in the course of commission of a family 5
3737 violence crime, as defined in section 46b-38a of the general statutes. 6
3838 Statement of Purpose:
3939 To classify a murder committed in the course of a domestic violence
4040 incident as a murder with special circumstances and to require issuance
4141 of a criminal protective order as part of the sentence for a domestic
4242 violence conviction.
