AN ACT ESTABLISHING AN ELDER JUSTICE UNIT IN THE DIVISION
OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 51-279b of the general statutes be amended to require the 1
Chief State's Attorney to establish an elder justice unit within the 2
Division of Criminal Justice to investigate and prosecute criminal 3
matters that involve criminal activity against elderly persons. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To address the widespread targeting of elders for exploitation, theft,
fraud and abuse.
