AN ACT IMPLEMENTING A SURCHARGE ON ELECTRICITY
CONSUMED BY DATA CENTERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to (1) create a surcharge on 1
electricity consumed by data centers in the state, and (2) use the 2
proceeds of such surcharge to pay the Combined Public Benefits Charge 3
reflected on electric utility bills for end use residential customers. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To (1) create a surcharge on electricity consumed by data centers in the
state, and (2) use the proceeds of such surcharge to pay the Combined
Public Benefits Charge reflected on electric utility bills for end use
residential customers.
