AN ACT AUTHORIZING BONDS OF THE STATE FOR AN AQUATICS CENTER AT THE WALLINGFORD FAMILY YMCA WEST SIDE BRANCH. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the State Bond Commission be empowered to authorize the 1 issuance of bonds of the state in accordance with section 3-20 of the 2 general statutes, in principal amounts not exceeding in the aggregate 3 one million dollars, the proceeds of which shall be used by the 4 Department of Economic and Community Development for the purpose 5 of providing a grant-in-aid for the construction of an aquatics center at 6 the Wallingford Family YMCA West Side Branch. 7 Statement of Purpose: To provide funding for the construction of a seven-million-dollar aquatics center at the Wallingford Family YMCA West Side Branch and thereby increase the number of available openings in swim lessons for children and adults, water exercise and therapy, life guard training and swim team for residents of the town of Wallingford and other surrounding towns.
