AN ACT PROHIBITING THE POSSESSION OR USE OF MOBILE
PHONES WHEREVER BALLOTS ARE BEING COUNTED.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit the 1
possession or use of mobile phones or other similar devices in the room 2
where any ballots that have been cast are being counted, so that 3
information related to the vote results will not be disclosed prior to their 4
official announcement. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit the possession or use of mobile phones wherever ballots are
being counted, so that information related to vote results will not be
disclosed prior to their official announcement.
