CARNEY, 23rd Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING BIPARTISAN SUPPORT FOR ELECTIONS - RELATED LEGISLATION. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to (1) establish a Bipartisan 1 Legislative Commission on Elections, and (2) provide that, in order to 2 be enacted, any legislation affecting elections shall (A) be submitted to 3 and approved by said commission prior to a vote by a chamber of the 4 General Assembly, or (B) receive an affirmative vote of two-thirds of the 5 membership of each chamber of the General Assembly. 6 Statement of Purpose: To ensure that elections-related legislation receives support from both major political parties prior to its enactment.
