20 | 20 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General | |
21 | 21 | Assembly convened: | |

23 | 23 | That sections 9-311a and 9-445 of the general statutes be amended to 1 | |
24 | 24 | provide that, whenever a close vote recanvass is triggered under either 2 | |
25 | 25 | of said sections, a defeated candidate shall not be allowed to file a 3 | |
26 | 26 | written statement waiving such candidate's right to such recanvass and 4 | |
27 | 27 | such recanvass shall be required to be conducted. 5 | |
28 | 28 | Statement of Purpose: | |
29 | 29 | To require close vote recanvasses to be conducted and not allow | |
30 | 30 | candidates to waive their rights to such recanvasses. |
