REP. MUSHINSKY, 85th Dist. AN ACT CREATING A STATE PROCUREMENT STANDARD FOR THE USE OF LOW-EMBODIED CARBON CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS IN CERTAIN STATE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to require the Departments of 1 Administrative Services and Transportation to create a procurement 2 standard preferring the use of low-embodied carbon concrete, mass 3 timber and other low-carbon construction materials in any state 4 construction project administered by said departments. 5 Statement of Purpose: To reduce carbon emissions by requiring the development of a procurement preference standard for the use of low-embodied carbon construction materials in certain state construction projects.
