2222 AN ACT CONCERNING THE PURCHASE OF PRINT AND DIGITAL
2323 ADVERTISING BY THE STATE.
2424 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2525 Assembly convened:

2727 That chapter 58 of the general statutes be amended to require each 1
2828 state agency procuring print or digital advertising, within available 2
2929 appropriations, to contract with a commercial or nonprofit publisher of 3
3030 news whose principal place of business is in this state for not less than 4
3131 fifteen per cent of the total annual value of such agency's contracts for 5
3232 such advertising, except for print or digital advertising that is primarily 6
3333 directed at an out-of-state audience or if granted a waiver by the 7
3434 Commissioner of Administrative Services. 8
3535 Statement of Purpose:
3636 To require executive branch state agencies to purchase a certain
3737 percentage of procured print or digital advertising from in-state
3838 commercial or nonprofit news publishers, with certain exceptions.
