AN ACT CONCERNING PROCEDURES FOR REQUESTING RACIAL
AND ETHNIC IMPACT STATEMENTS ON PROPOSED LEGISLATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 2-24b of the general statutes be amended to require (1) 1
the Commission on Racial Equity in Public Health to develop 2
procedures for members of the General Assembly to request the 3
commission, commencing with the 2027 regular session, to prepare a 4
racial and ethnic impact statement on bills, and (2) each state agency, 5
office or institution to provide information for a racial and ethnic impact 6
statement on a bill in the manner requested by the commission not later 7
than five days after the request. 8
Statement of Purpose:
To require the Commission on Racial Equity in Public Health to develop
procedures for, and to prepare, racial and ethnic impact statements on
proposed legislation and to require state agencies to cooperate with
requests of the commission.
