AN ACT CONCERNING SOURCE WATER PROTECTION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require the Siting Council to 1
(1) notify water utilities of applications and consider the impact of siting 2
solar photovoltaic installations and other renewable energy facilities on 3
watershed lands and the impact on the quality and quantity of public 4
water supplies, and (2) require the Department of Energy and 5
Environmental Protection to establish riparian buffers to better regulate 6
development in river corridors and floodplains and protect water 7
resources from contamination. 8
Statement of Purpose:
To protect water sources and water quality in the state.
