AN ACT REQUIRING THE RECYCLING OF FOOD WASTE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require food waste be 1
designated a recyclable item as of January 1, 2027, and to prohibit 2
haulers from accepting such wastes as of said date. 3
Statement of Purpose:
To create a market for food waste and reduce costs associated with
sending food waste out of state for landfilling.
