AN ACT CONCERNING SMALL HYDROPOWER FACILITIES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to establish a small hydro tariff 1 program for hydropower facilities in the state with nameplate capacity 2 ratings of three and one-half megawatts or less, and to require electric 3 distribution companies to pay such facilities monthly for every kilowatt 4 hour of electricity received from such facilities that month multiplied by 5 the small hydro tariff. The "small hydro tariff" means the local 6 distribution company's Rate 1 Standard Service price in cents per 7 kilowatt hour. The small hydro tariff program shall be capped at an 8 aggregate total generating capacity of not more than sixty megawatts. 9 Statement of Purpose: To require electric distribution companies to purchase electricity supplied by small hydropower facilities.
