AN ACT PROHIBITING A LANDLORD FROM DEMANDING A
SECURITY DEPOSIT IN EXCESS OF ONE MONTH'S RENT FROM ANY
TENANT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That subsection (b) of section 47a-21 of the general statutes be 1
amended to prohibit a landlord from demanding a security deposit in 2
excess of one month's rent from any tenant. 3
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit a landlord from demanding a security deposit in excess of
one month's rent from any tenant.
