AN ACT CONCERNING THE CONSUMPTION OF CANNABIS
PRODUCTS IN MOTOR VEHICLES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That (1) section 54-33p of the general statutes be amended to allow 1
police officers to use the odor of cannabis or burnt cannabis as a basis to 2
support any stop or search of a person or motor vehicle; and (2) sections 3
53a-213a and 53a-213b of the general statutes be amended to allow 4
police to stop a vehicle where the driver or a passenger is observed 5
consuming cannabis. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To prevent death and injury by impaired drivers.
