AN ACT PERMITTING LAW ENFORCEMENT TO STOP A MOTOR
VEHICLE DUE TO THE ODOR OF CANNABIS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 54-33p of the general statutes be amended to restore the 1
ability of a law enforcement officer to use the odor of cannabis as a basis 2
to support an investigatory motor vehicle stop or search of a motor 3
vehicle or person in a motor vehicle. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To prevent death and injury due to impaired drivers.
