1819 AN ACT REQUIRING UNINSURED AND UNDERINSURED MOTORIST
1920 COVERAGE FOR DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

2122 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2425 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2025) Not later than July 1, 2026, the 1
2526 state shall provide uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage 2
2627 under the State Fleet Insurance Policy, with limits for bodily injury or 3
2728 death not less than one million dollars, to employees of the Department 4
2829 of Transportation for the protection of such employees who are legally 5
2930 entitled to recover damages from owners or operators of uninsured 6
30-motor vehicles and underinsured motor vehicles because of a bodily 7
31-injury, including death resulting therefrom, arising out of or in the 8
32-course of such employee's employment when such employee is required 9
33-to be outside of a motor vehicle. 10
