AN ACT CONCERNING A PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT AND
PAYMENT IN LIEU OF TAXES FOR SHOPPING MALLS CONVERTED
TO RESIDENTIAL USE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 12 of the general statutes be amended to (1) establish a 1
property tax abatement for shopping malls that are converted to 2
residential use, and (2) provide payment in lieu of taxes to reimburse 3
municipalities for resulting lost property tax revenue. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To (1) establish a property tax abatement for shopping malls that are
converted to residential use, and (2) provide payment in lieu of taxes to
reimburse municipalities for resulting lost property tax revenue.
