19	20		AN ACT CONCERNING MILITARY AFFAIRS IN CONNECTICUT.
20	21		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
21	22		Assembly convened:

23	24		Section 1. Section 27-78 of the general statutes is repealed and the 1
24	25		following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2025): 2
25	26		[Within] Not later than six months after the mustering out of any 3
26	27		regiment of the State Guard, the surviving late senior officer of such 4
27	28		regiment shall cause the regimental standards, both national and state, 5
28	29		[which] that belonged to such regiment to be deposited in the former 6
29	30		headquarters' armory of such regiment. When such deposit is made, the 7
30	31		officer in charge of such armory shall give his receipt for such standards, 8
31	32		and thereafter he and his successors shall be the custodians of such 9
32	33		standards and shall carefully keep and conspicuously display them in 10
33	34		such armory in recognition of the patriotic service of such regiment of 11
34	35		the State Guard. Immediately upon receipt of such regimental 12
35	36		standards, the officer who has assumed the custody of them shall apply 13
36	37		to the Adjutant General for a repository for such standards, and the 14

42	45		such application, shall deliver to the officer making such application, or 16
43	46		to his successor, a glass-front, dust-proof repository, so designed, 17
44	47		constructed and inscribed as suitably to fulfill the purpose [herein] set 18
45	48		forth in this section. All expense incurred in complying with the 19
46	49		provisions of this section shall be borne by the state. 20
