AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF RANKED -CHOICE VOTING IN
MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS AND IN CERTAIN PARTY PRIMARIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to authorize (1) 1
municipalities to use ranked-choice voting in the conduct of any 2
municipal election, and (2) political parties to, in accordance with their 3
adopted rules, use ranked-choice voting in the conduct of any primary 4
in which there are three or more candidates for nomination. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To authorize the use of ranked-choice voting in municipal elections and
in certain party primaries.
