AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF RANKED -CHOICE
VOTING.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to provide for a 1
method of casting and tabulating votes whereby voters rank candidates 2
in order of preference, tabulation proceeds in sequential rounds in 3
which last-place candidates are defeated and the candidate with the 4
most votes in the final round is elected. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To authorize the use of ranked-choice voting in primaries and elections.
