AN ACT ALLOWING CONFIDENTIAL BIRTHS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to allow a person to give birth 1
in a hospital or birthing center without having to disclose such person's 2
name to the hospital or birthing center. 3
Statement of Purpose:
To address crisis pregnancies, promote informed consent and reduce
the potential for infant abandonment while safeguarding the health of
the birthing person and infant as an ethical approach to a birth in crisis.
