AN ACT CONCERNING SIBLING ACCESS TO BIRTH AND FETAL
DEATH RECORDS AND CERTIFICATES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 7-51 of the general statutes be amended to require the 1
Department of Public Health and registrars of vital statistics to allow 2
access to and issuance of a certified copy of birth and fetal death records 3
and certificates less than one hundred years old, to a sibling of the 4
person whose birth or fetal death is recorded. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To increase family access to certified copies of birth and fetal death
records or certificates.
