AN ACT CONCERNING THE DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM FOR SELF -
DEFENSE AND HUNTING NEAR RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of 1
Emergency Services and Public Protection to adopt regulations to (1) 2
authorize an individual who owns a firearm to discharge such firearm 3
for self-defense purposes within five hundred feet of a residential 4
building, and (2) prohibit hunting within five hundred feet of such a 5
building. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To protect and clarify an individual's right to use a firearm in self-
defense around such individual's home.
