AN ACT REQUIRING CHILDREN EIGHTEEN YEARS OF AGE AND
UNDER TO WEAR BICYCLE HELMETS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That subsection (b) of section 14-286d of the general statutes be 1
amended to require children eighteen years of age or under, instead of 2
fifteen years of age or under, to wear protective headgear when 3
operating a bicycle on the traveled portion of any highway. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To protect developing brains from damage by requiring children
eighteen years of age and under to wear helmets while operating a
bicycle.
