AN ACT ESTABLISHING BUSWAY EAST TO CONNECT
MANCHESTER, HARTFORD, THE UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT AT
STORRS AND MANSFIELD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 13b of the general statutes be amended to require the 1
Commissioner of Transportation to establish and fund a new busway, 2
to be known as Busway East, with regular routes that connect the town 3
of Manchester with the city of Hartford, The University of Connecticut 4
at Storrs and the town of Mansfield. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To establish and fund a busway to leverage Manchester's strategic
location halfway between Hartford and Mansfield, spur economic
development, reduce motor vehicle use and improve equity in
education, income, wealth and health outcomes.
