18	19		AN ACT CONCERNING THE INSTALLATION OF SOUND BARRIERS
19	20		BY THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.
20	21		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
21	22		Assembly convened:

23	24		Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) (a) For the purposes of this 1
24	25		section, "Type II project" has the same meaning as provided in 23 CFR 2
25	26		772.5, as amended from time to time. 3
26	27		(b) Not later than October 1, 2025, the Department of Transportation 4
27	28		shall (1) develop, and revise as necessary thereafter, a schedule to fund 5
28	29		the construction of noise barriers for Type II projects according to the 6
29	30		priority list developed in accordance with section 34 of public act 23-7
30	31		135, and (2) fund the construction of such noise barriers according to 8
31	32		such schedule. The department shall publish such schedule and the 9
32	33		status of each noise barrier construction project on the department's 10
33	34		Internet web site. 11
34	35		This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
