| 25 | 26 | Section 1. Section 9-239 of the general statutes is repealed and the 1 | |
| 26 | 27 | following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective from passage): 2 | |
| 27 | 28 | (a) The fiscal authority in each municipality shall authorize payment 3 | |
| 28 | 29 | of the bill incurred for the purchase or lease or other method of 4 | |
| 29 | 30 | acquisition of an adequate number of voting tabulators incurred by the 5 | |
| 30 | 31 | officials who are responsible for providing the same under the 6 | |

| 32 | 33 | (b) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a) of this section 8 | |
