AN ACT AUTHORIZING BLACK BEAR HUNTING IN LITCHFIELD 
COUNTY. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the general statutes be amended to provide for the hunting of 1 
black bear in Litchfield County and to further provide the following: (1) 2 
Permit the taking of black bear during the first year of such hunting at a 3 
rate that does not exceed five per cent of the total black bear population 4 
in the state as of the effective date of this section, and (2) require the 5 
submission of a report to the joint standing committee of the General 6 
Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to the environment one 7 
year after the beginning of such black bear hunting that includes 8 
information on the number of black bear taken pursuant to such 9 
hunting, the number of licenses issued by the Department of Energy and 10 
Environmental Protection to hunt such black bear and any 11 
recommendations of the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental 12 
Protection for any modifications to such black bear hunting in the state. 13 
Statement of Purpose:   
To authorize black bear hunting in Litchfield County.
