1818 AN ACT REQUIRING A REPORT FROM THE COMMISSIONER OF
1919 ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION CONCERNING
2020 BATTERY STORAGE.
2121 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2222 Assembly convened:

2424 That the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of 1
2525 Energy and Environmental Protection to report to the General Assembly 2
2626 regarding (1) the costs associated with battery storage technology, (2) 3
2727 the impact of such costs on ratepayer bills, including a detailed 4
2828 explanation of the battery storage technology used by each public 5
2929 service company, and (3) such technology's impact on the environment 6
3030 attributable to the acquisition of component materials for such 7
3131 technology and the disposal of such technology after its useful life. 8
3232 Statement of Purpose:
3333 To require a report by the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental
3434 Protection on the effectiveness of battery storage technology and such
3535 technology's impact on ratepayer bills and the environment.
