LCO No. 5170 1 of 2 General Assembly Committee Bill No. 134 January Session, 2025 LCO No. 5170 Referred to Committee on GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION AND ELECTIONS Introduced by: (GAE) AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF REPURPOSING OR SELLING UNDERUTILIZED STATE-OWNED BUILDINGS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Commissioner of Administrative 1 Services shall (1) conduct a study concerning the feasibility, benefits and 2 disadvantages to repurposing or selling underutilized state-owned 3 buildings, including any potential benefits or disadvantages for the 4 municipality in which the buildings are located, and (2) not later than 5 December 31, 2025, submit a report, in accordance with the provisions 6 of section 11-4a of the general statutes, on the findings of such study to 7 the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having 8 cognizance of matters relating to the leasing, purchase and sale, transfer 9 or the disposition of state property and facilities. 10 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section Committee Bill No. 134 LCO No. 5170 2 of 2 Statement of Purpose: To require the Commissioner of Administrative Services to conduct a study concerning the repurposing or selling of underutilized state- owned buildings and to submit a report concerning the findings of such study.
